Texas QSO Party
September 17th and 18th
Time to make sure the mobile is ready for the road and to plan your route! As in the past, prepare your ROUTE in the form of a list of the counties you plan to visit and the day you will be there. It is important to include your operating mode (CWOnly, SSBOnly, MIXed). Route plans need not be detailed - all Chuck NO5W needs is a text file listing the operating mode with the counties you plan to be in and in the order you will pass through them if that is more convenient. The listings do not need crossing times, and in fact, these slow processing to strip them out.

Every year an event is held to contact stations on Route 66. This year there's a twist for the LAARK club, Dale Haitt, K5MAY has put together some rules for LAARK members to have our own club contest/challenge. The Route 66 event runs for a week, so it gives you enough time to make the contacts needed to complete the sweep. The rules were sent via email earlier in the week, but the links below will give you access to the rules, log sheet and signup sheet:

Cystic Fibrosis Cycle for Life
Cystic Fibrosis Cycle for Life bike ride on Saturday October 1st. This event is based out of Bartonville with the course heading north towards Argyle and then out west towards 156. We are looking for volunteers to assist with all positions: rest stops, SAGs, tail, and net control. Reporting times have not been finalized yet, but the earliest should be at about 6:30AM. This event usually wraps up just after lunch.

There will be a preparedness fair on October 22nd starting at 9am, located at the LDS church in Oak Point, 8801 Martop Rd., Aubrey, TX 76227 so please go out and support our club participation in the fair.
